Temple, Texas, November 1 , 2011 – Wilsonart announces its High Pressure Decorative Laminate (HPDL) product types 107 (General Purpose), 335 (Vertical Grade), 350 (Post-forming Grade) and 376 (Wilsonart® HD® High Definition) have been awarded SCS Indoor Advantage™ Gold (SCS-IAQ-02654) certification by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) of Emeryville, California. The certification verifies that Wilsonart® Laminate products are low-emitting products that do not impact indoor air quality in commercial or residential setting.
Indoor Advantage™ Gold certification is applicable to furniture systems, seating and components, paint, wall coverings, doors, casework, coatings and sealants, and insulation. SCS Indoor Advantage Gold certifications provide third-party verification that products consistently meet rigorous indoor air quality emissions requirements.
Indoor Advantage Gold certified products demonstrate conformance with:
· ANSI/BIFMA Furniture Emissions Standards M7.1 and X7.1
· LEED Green Building Rating Systems for furniture (LEED-CI IEQ 4.5)
· California Section 01350 Special Environmental Requirements
· LEED Green Building Rating Systems for adhesives and sealants (LEED IEQ 4.1), paints and coatings (LEED IEQ 4.2)
· Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) low-emitting materials criteria
Wilsonart Laminates have already received GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality and GREENGUARD Children & Schools certifications. The SCS Indoor Advantage Gold certification provides further confidence in Wilsonart Laminate products.
Wilsonart was the first laminate manufacturer to achieve full FSC®-C022201 certification for High Pressure Laminate (HPL) on Wilsonart® HD® and most Premium Laminates. The company was also first to earn Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain-of-custody certification in the HPL category, ensuring that products marked with the recognizable FSC "checkmark and tree" logo were sourced from responsibly managed forests.
