TEMPLE, Texas, April 17, 2003 – If Wilsonart’s LS Series of laminate patterns had existed during the 1970s, it would have featured a highly reflective shine to complement all the chrome that dominated the design world at the time. Today, however, the LS Series has a very modern, up-to-the-minute story to tell that involves sheen, not shine, and a subtle but rich shimmer.
“The addition of pearlescent ink into each of the four patterns in Wilsonart’s LS Series provides a warm lustrous quality that creates depth and dimension for these patterns that would otherwise be flat, solid neutrals,” says Ron Gagnon, Wilsonart director of design and marketing. These designs perfectly complement the popular brushed metal fixtures that feature this familiar sheen, as well as the plethora of residential and commercial textiles that contain subtle shimmering threads.
The LS Series also illustrates a movement that is happening in other industries that aren’t even related to design and décor. For example, the fashion, beauty and automotive industries have all launched clothes, cosmetics and automotive paint colors that feature similarly lustrous glows.
Wilsonart’s LS Series consists of the following four designs:
- Pearl Silver LS – A cool grey laminate with warm overtones.
- Pearl Bisque LS – A warm, off-white laminate with pearl undertones.
- Pearl Dust LS – A neutral laminate with hints of gold and bronze.
- Pearl Mist LS – A warm grey-toned design.
