Each Wilsonart® Flooring design is a standout
Wilsonart's Classic™ Plank designs for 2003 set a new standard for visual quality and authenticity. New styles like Watermark Maple, Mesquite, and Tropical Wood are moving consumers away from traditional Oak into more adventuresome tones.
“Each Classic Plank design carries a story that compliments its individuality; a story that explains its history, its characteristics and its details,” says Gwen Petter, Manager of Surface Design for Wilsonart, “These are attributes the design community craves.”
There are 24 unique designs in the Classic line, including four new standouts: Watermark Maple - A 2-board, blocked design featuring the unique characteristics of an Asian watermark maple. The "water-rings" and large-scaled movements lend a feel for a fresh, new exotic. Overall coloration is lightly golden with transitions shifting toward honey tones. Colorplay is exceptional throughout this design.
Tropical Wood - An exotic fusion of Teak, Jatoba, and Padauk in a 2-board, blocked format. Unlike most exotic species, there is no repetition in the structure. Contrast is apparent within the planking to reveal cathedrals, straight grain, and exotic patterned effects. Overall coloration incorporates honey tones and teak browns.
Mesquite - Consists of a colorful heritage throughout Texas and the Great Southwest. With its uniqueness, this distinctive hardwood offers a brilliant contrast to the more commonly used North American hardwoods. Its rich, auburn color, high figure, and unsurpassable stability lend itself to many applications. Offered in this 3-board, blocked format.
Brown Oak - Found more often in England than here in the U.S. This wood features prominently quarter-sewn grains and its distinctive medullary rays in a 3-board, blocked design. The color ranges from a light tan or golden color to dark brown, with the affected heartwood areas contrasted in a deep, rich cocoa color. The affected heartwood 's color rarity is a result of a fungus that magically changes the color of the heartwood of those trees attacked.
Watermark Maple and Tropical Wood also features dust lines for even more realism. All Classic Planks feature a 17 mil wear layer with either a low or high luster, as well as Tap-N-Lock™ Glueless Technology, which uses two tongue-and-groove joints for extra strength and a faster, non-angled installation. A hot-wax emulsion treatment penetrates each plank's high-density fiberboard core for long-term moisture protection, and a high-pressure laminate is used as a balancing layer on the bottom to keep flooring panels level and ensures a better installation. All Classic planks and tiles carry a 20-year Residential Warranty against wear, stain, fade and water damage.
Wilsonart is a leading manufacturer of laminate surfaces and one of the largest manufacturers of high-pressure laminate flooring. For more information on Wilsonart Flooring, visit www.wilsonart.com or call 800-710-8846.
