TEMPLE, Texas, July 19, 2005 – Growing in response to the demand for metal finishes in interiors, Wilsonart International introduces eight new designs into the Wilsonart® Decorative Metals / METALAMINATES™ category.  Part of the Artisan Group of Wilsonart Decorative Metals, the new Stria Collection boasts three textured designs that are a sophisticated interpretation of brushed metal.  There are also five new designs that incorporate color into a subtle linear texture in the METALAMINATES line of foil-faced laminates.  METALAMINATES offer limitless design options for vertical applications and can be wrapped, or post-formed, around surfaces such as columns or furniture.  

Pure metal, the three Stria designs consist of narrow bands of neutral metallic alternating in a field of color for a textural rhythm.   They achieve movement and interest through architectural integrity and include:

• Silver Stria – A soft, striped rendition of the most commonly used colors in metal.
• Mercury Stria – This pattern provides more contrast than Silver Stria with a hint of color – mid- to dark values – that add punch to the look.  
• Bronze Stria – Bronze and its bold warmth is softened here by the mix of silver.

The five additions to the METALAMINATES offering subtly incorporate color into a soft texture that almost mimics brushstrokes and emphasizes the metallic characteristic.   Colorways include:

• Tungsten – A reflective, light bronze alloy.
• Copper Dust – Fresh and new, a dust of copper that brings subdued warmth.
• Gold Dust – A soft gold with a translucent sheen.
• Iron – A medium gray metallic element.
• Ore – A sleek aubergine extract with deep grey hues.
