-- 25 New Products Showcase Design Innovation in High-Pressure Laminate --
TEMPLE, TEXAS (February 7, 2007) – Wilsonart Flooring announces an exciting new flooring line-up for 2007. The 2007 additions include 25 laminate designs, a new design family, two new textures and an additional plank width. The new designs were created with the idea that there are two things that influence a consumer’s final decision on flooring for their home: the way it looks…and the way it feels. Wilsonart Flooring realizes that those two factors are equally important and has invested time and resources in the development of laminate flooring products that feel as good as they look. The result is flooring with the realism of hardwood graining and natural tile etching that are beautiful, durable and easy to clean.
Textures are a significant part of the 2007 collection and feature two of Wilsonart Flooring’s latest high-pressure laminate innovations: grain-matched texture that brings out the distinctive beauty of the natural wood grain using a mirror-image embossing technique and a beautiful natural slate texture captures the subtle clefts and surface variations found in natural stone. Wilsonart Flooring’s other proprietary textures include Hand Scraped, Distressed, Everyday Luster and Glazed Ceramic.
This product collection is so noteworthy it demanded a new, distinctive category all its own and it’s been named for what it delivers – Style! This offering consists of twelve new plank products: four are 3 ½” wide and eight are 5” wide. All planks are 46 ½” long and feature four-sided micro-beveled edge technology which takes realism to a whole new level.
Beyond these exciting new formats, The Styles Classic Collection showcases a wide array of new colors and wood species in both traditional and exotic families designed to appeal to the most discerning consumers. From the Princeton and Hudson Noble designs that feature our new Grain-Matched texture to the Brazilian Redwood, Tamarind Teak and Asian-inspired Cherry designs, this is one dynamic line. As part of the Classic Collection from Wilsonart Flooring, Styles products all carry a 20-year residential warranty covering Wear, Fade, Stain and Topical Moisture, as well as a 5-year commercial warranty covering Wear, Fade and Stain.
New designs for 2007 include:
Nouveau Walnut (5” plank) - A black walnut infused with light sapping characteristics. The sophisticated coloration creates movement and contrast, creating visual depth. This is a new and artistic take on the traditional North American species.
Shogun Cherry (5” plank) - This Asian Cherry boasts beautiful brown to amber tones with lighter sapwood, creating shifts in color and contrast. The fine figured grain structure makes this floor a great choice for a diverse range of tastes and interiors.
Zen Cherry (5” plank) - Quiet and subtle, or “Zen-like”, describes this divine Asian Cherry. With the alternating and varying brown to blond hues, interest is not sacrificed; in fact, it creates a calming affect.
Tapestry Maple (5” plank) - Just as an old tapestry depicting a story, the spalting in our Tapestry Maple weaves a story of variety and interest. Pleasing and subtle hues of light caramels to rich chocolate, this floor will tell any story you desire for your interior space.
Brazilian Redwood (5” plank) - Historically used for the beautiful red dye this wood yields, and in more recent history, used in cabinetry, our Brazilian Redwood finds yet another application, flooring. The attractive graining and copper tones lend a quiet exotic finish to your interior story.
Imperial Cherry (5” plank) - Regal and sophisticated, this Asian Cherry has a commanding quality without being overstated. The elegant red hues are highlighted by sapping that offer an almost gilded appearance.
Hudson Noble (5” plank) - A traditional open grained oak with a grain-matched texture; Hudson Noble boasts pleasing honey and latte tones to warm your interior.
Princeton Noble (5” plank) - Chocolate anyone? The rich chocolate trends continue to gain momentum in the market place. Add depth and tradition to your interior space with this traditional open grained oak with a grain-matched texture in this luscious deep hue.
Tamarind Teak (3 ½” plank) - A native to South and Southeast Asia, Teak traditionally was used for outdoor applications because of its natural ability to resist weathering. Bring the outdoors in with our interpretation of this Asian exotic.
Cherry Larue (3 ½” plank) - Deep, rich, red tones characterize this cherry which is classic in nature, but flexible and stylish enough to work in a contemporary loft space or your California Bungalow.
Alvarado Oak (3 ½” plank) - A classic rotary cut oak in the representative honey tones. Variety is inherent in this product from plank to plank with the play of cathedral and straight grain structures.
Beaumont Oak (3 ½” plank) - A traditional oak in a rich caramel hue, evoking the feelings of Americana. Beaumont Oak works as a reliable neutral to anchor most interiors.
The Red Label Collection, which already epitomizes the best that Wilsonart Flooring has to offer, is undergoing a significant facelift in 2007. With modest attrition contributing to four discontinuations, what was a 17 product design line will grow to become our second broadest offering with 26 designs in nearly every format, finish and texture that Wilsonart Flooring brings to market. Our 3 ½” and 5” 4-sided micro-beveled edge technology dominates our 2007 launch, along with the re-introduction of tile to the category. Texture options are prolific and include Hand Scraped, Distressed, Grain-Match, Everyday Luster in a high or low sheen and our new Natural Slate tile finish. These proprietary textures are matched with a number of all-new designs, enhancing realism and improving the overall aesthetics of this collection. From a species standpoint, a wide-array of exotics are represented, such as Brazilian Chestnut, African Walnut, Kapalua, Hurley Elm and Sangria Rosewood, coupled with rich, warm traditional Oaks featuring our Grain-Matched texture and the new Slate tiles. All Red Label products carry a lifetime warranty covering Wear, Fade, Stain and Topical Moisture and have a 10-year commercial warranty covering Wear, Fade and Stain.
New designs for 2007 include:
Sangria Rosewood (5” plank) - With the “flavoring” of a cool Sangria beverage, this Brazilian native is sure to entice you with its reds and coppers. Deep, dark, almost black graining is present as straight and cathedral structures.
African Walnut (5” plank) - From a tropical tree in Africa, its grain structure and sapping evoke a rhythm synonymous with the African environments. Gorgeous sunrises with their golden hues to the darker ambers and browns found in the shadows of dusk are represented in this exotic floor.
Brazilian Chestnut (5” plank) - Bold, fun-loving, and exotic can describe the people and attitudes of Brazil, just as it can describe this new exotic wood design. Large cathedrals and bold contrasts of color from the sapping; create the movement and interest produced in the installed floor.
Hurley Elm (5” plank) - An English Elm with fantastic feather-like figuring mixed with calming straight grains to help with the spontaneity of this flooring. Subtle hints of red and amber come through, drawing you into the warmth of this mid-toned wood.
Sterling Noble (5” plank) - A new twist to a trustworthy species; Sterling Noble is a traditional open grained oak with a grain-matched texture. It is represented here in a stylish latte hue that will contrast nicely with the popular espresso stained cabinetry in kitchens today.
Tensley Noble (5” plank) - An open grained oak with grain-matched texture, Tensley Noble spices up the traditional oak honey tones with a blend of latte and chocolate hues.
Kapalua (3 ½” plank) - Koa wood is a highly prized tropical hardwood that grows nowhere else in the world except for Hawaii. Some legends say that the stunning golden to reddish hues are due to the fact that the Koa tree grows in what once were lava fields. Our Koa boasts nontraditional straight grains as well as the highly sought after curly graining.
Montana Brown (3 ½” plank) - This American Walnut with its characteristic medium to dark browns, straight and cathedral graining, can carry its own in contemporary interiors to traditional interiors. That is the beauty of wood, the versatility it offers has tagged it the next great neutral, with flare.
Cerella Oak (3 ½” plank) - Cerella Oak offers a soothing alternative to the mainstream oaks. The tight grain structure and minimum number of cathedrals create a smooth and quiet floor with a balanced color play of rich amber and golden honey.
Collector’s Cherry (3 ½” plank) - You can be a collector and have beautiful objects in your life with Collector’s Cherry at your feet. This traditional cherry makes a statement of time honored quality with its golden reds.
Mosaic Slate (15 ½” square tile) - Varying hues from nature paired with different textures offer a more visually interesting neutral pallet for your décor. Let Mosaic Slate be your starting point to your calming interior.
Urban Slate (15 ½” square tile) - Bring the outdoors in with Urban Slate. Cool neutrals of grays, browns, and creams help give the time worn appearance to your interior suggesting permanence and history all of which can have a calming affect.
Clift Slate (15 ½” square tile) - New items with a patina suggesting age and old world appeal have been and continue to be popular with consumers. Clift Slate suggests the time worn appearance without any of the maintenance issues normally faced when installing slate.
All Wilsonart Flooring designs deliver the authentic look of wood and stone – along with several advantages. The surface is impervious to sunlight: it won’t fade or suffer surface damage from exposure to the sun’s natural rays. It’s also scratch and dent resistant – so you can actually ‘live’ in your living room without worrying about damaging the floor. Wilsonart Flooring also sparkles when it comes to maintenance. It never needs waxing or refinishing – and routine cleaning is as simple as sweeping or a quick once-over with an electrostatic floor cleaner.
All collections offer a wear, fade, stain and topical moisture residential warranty and use Wilsonart’s Tap-N-Lock™ technology. The dual-locking, tongue-and-groove design offers faster, non-angled installation and eliminates “peaking” for a smooth, level finish. All designs utilize four and five color print paper for extreme clarity of design and there are exact match moldings for all colors. The new designs will be available in early April in specialty retailers nationwide. To find a dealer near you, please visit www.wilsonartflooring.com.
